Next
year will celebrate 400 years of glass making in Stourbridge. The Bead Fair will be over 3 days but we will not be there;
instead we will stay at the Dial. There will be our Gallery (exhibits are limited to our customers and last year we
had a wonderful selection which was well received and 75% purchased) special events, demonstrations, special offers, tours and
a master class.
Good ideas of ways to celebrate would be most welcome.
There are many people involved, some with a large input others who are the ideas gurus. One suggestion is to get all
the people who can make a bead to do so, and then have the longest, most colourful necklace we can create.
Another idea is to have an historic re-enactment group of glassmakers at Broadfield House
Glass Museum.
A church service close to April 26th 2012, at St Mary's
in Kingswinford with the associated baptismal papers from 400 years ago is being looked at.
Heritage Plaques - Find a worthy person and a place to put a plaque.
A
replica Portland vase is being made.
A talk on the original Portland Vase
will take place on the Wednesday prior to the August Bank Holiday 2012.
January Sales.
