Glass Animal Making with Bob Martin

Learn how to make exotic little creatures in soda glass.
Health and safety, use of the torch, avoiding common problems, and generally working with glass to make the animals you desire - size can be a limitation - small animals only.

Wear comfortable clothes, warm shoes and bring your own didymium glasses if you have them as they will be nicer to wear.

Enamel Patterns
An opportunity for beginners or those with some experience to develop basic enamelling skills to create at least 4 pieces of work.

Techniques will include sifting, sgraffito, stencils, riso screens, masking, embedding, wire work and decorative media on copper.

Items produced could include small panels, brooches, pendants, cuff links, buttons, key rings or mini art works.

All equipment, tools and limited materials and findings included.

Suitable for all ages and abilities.

INTRODUCTION TO ENAMELS

Two taster sessions to introduce the art of enamelling on copper.

Learn how to prepare a copper blank, sift enamel and fire it.

You will take at least 2 pieces home with you.

 Beadmaking - Two day course with Barbara Mason  £300

October - Steve Ramsay - date to be confirmed - £300 -- We have a bursary for the first four people for Steve's course, from The British Glass Education Fund - Cost of course will then be £210 for two full days of tuition, all materials, lunch and refreshments.

A day out to include light lunch/refreshments, all materials and use of equipment, instruction in safe bead making, making simple beads and pendants to take home or to be sent on.
